What happens during your consultation?
When you book, we will determine from what you tell us you need if you will see the podiatrist for a:
1. Biomechanical Consultation/foot pain - $95
This appointment includes medical history, musculoskeletal assessments including a gait analysis, diagnosis, and treatment. This is for patients who complain of pain to their feet, legs and back that may be related to their feet. Footwear is also discussed.
2. Skin/Nail Care Consultation - $80-95 initial appointment and $75 for repeat appointments
This appointment includes a medical history and depending on your needs may include checking the blood circulation and feeling in your feet. You will be involved in a discussion of your treatment plan and diagnosis.
Any minor problems that are picked up can usually be treated on the spot, including the removal of hard skin, corns and calluses, and nail care.
If you require any major work to your feet, a repeat office visit may be required.
For ongoing skin and nail care, the podiatrist will give your recommendations on how often you should be seen.

Born in South Africa, Bruce was trained in podiatry in the UK. He moved to Nova Scotia in 2010 to run a clinic in the Annapolis Valley. He is passionate about helping people regain their desired activity level. With 24 years experience as a podiatrist, Bruce specializes in skin and nail care as well as assessment and treatment of the diabetic foot. He diagnoses lower limb pathology and is able to recommend and fit custom foot orthotics, footwear and exercises/stretches.
Bruce has extra training in foot mobilizations and can work on the lower limb, treating the cause of foot and ankle pain. He is recognized through private insurance plan coverage to write your orthotics prescription and is part of Canada's regulatory body for podiatry/chiropody.
