Say Goodbye to Pesky Warts

Many people avoid treating their warts as they may be shy for others to see them. The important thing to remember is that
the first step to getting rid of your warts is to actually treat them!
Avoiding treatment can make them worse and/or last longer.

What is a wart?

Warts are grainy skin growths that occur most often on your feet and hands. Rough to the touch, warts usually have a pattern of tiny black dots, which are small, clotted blood vessels.

Warts are caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and are transmitted by touch. Warts are usually harmless but can sometimes be painful, particularly on the feet.

Book in to see our experienced foot care specialists (foot care nurse or podiatrist) to confirm what you have is a wart and find out your treatment options.

Do I Have It?

What To Expect At Your Appointment

You will first need to have an initial consult with the podiatrist or foot care nurse . This is when your areas of concern are determined to be a wart or not. You would be surprised how many end up being calluses on the feet, not warts! The foot care specialist also needs to determine if there are different types of warts and discuss treatment options. If you decide to have your warts removed, you will be booked every 2nd week for your treatment session. Some people's warts respond to as little as 2 treatments depending on how long they have had the wart.

It is important that you not have any other anesthetic, local or general for 24 hours prior to being seen on your treatment day. A local anesthetic is injected into the area being treated for numbing. It works to block pain but you may still feel pressure and movement.
